Simple bandwidth limitation using Simple Queues in MikroTik - as simple as that

hi kids, this is your dad, huahuanjayy wkwkwk, Nuenomaru the handsome is back in action.

Today, I'm back with a simple little article, Just like the title says, ‘as simple as that,’ this method is simpler, more concise, and even faster than cooking a pack of instant noodles in your kitchen. In this setup, I’m responsible for managing two separate rooms that require static IP assignments with specific bandwidth limitations. Since the network is running on MikroTik, I will implement per-IP bandwidth control for each static address associated with these rooms, based on the predefined IP allocation plan I’ve mapped earlier.

First, make sure that the static IP addresses have already been created.

Navigate to the ‘Queues’ menu, select ‘Simple Queues,’ and click ‘Add’ to open the Pop-up.

In the ‘Name’ field, enter the name of the room corresponding to the IP allocation. In the ‘Target’ field, enter the IP address assigned to that room. Then, set the upload and download limits according to your requirements.

After completing the settings, click ‘Apply’ followed by ‘OK.

After that, you can test using a laptop with the assigned static IP to verify that the bandwidth limit is functioning correctly. Hahaha alright, that’s a wrap for today’s article—my coffee’s gone, so that’s my cue to stop typing.

Let’s end this with a Bismillah at the start and an Alhamdulillah at the finish. Catch you next time, tech gembelers!.
